  Our Leadership

The Embassy of Sri Lanka in Ethiopia serves as a cornerstone for deepening and transforming the bilateral ties between Sri Lanka and Ethiopia into a vibrant, multifaceted partnership. The Embassy actively dedicates its scope to elevating commercial, consular, sports, youth, agricultural, health, and educational cooperation. The Embassy achieves this by working dynamically with a diverse network of actors, including government ministries, chambers of commerce, corporate and private organizations, and regional bodies.

Operating from Addis Ababa, globally recognized as the third-largest diplomatic city—the Embassy robustly elevates Sri Lanka’s prominence in critical multilateral fora. This is driven by its active, high-profile role as the Permanent Observer Mission to both the African Union (AU) and the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA).

The Embassy is concurrently accredited to the Republic of Djibouti and the Federal Republic of Somalia, the mission plays an invaluable role in advancing regional cooperation, trade, and diplomatic synergy across the Horn of Africa.
