H.E. Nirmala Paranavitana welcomed a delegation of ten Sri Lankan Aircraft Engineers to the Embassy after completion of their specialized training programme at the Ethiopian Airlines Aviation Academy on the Boeing 767 aircraft on 11th June 2026.
Congratulating the engineers on this valuable professional opportunity, the Ambassador commended their commitment to enhancing Sri Lanka's aviation expertise and highlighted the importance of knowledge exchange in strengthening bilateral cooperation. She reaffirmed the Embassy's readiness to extend every possible assistance to Sri Lankan professionals in Ethiopia and encouraged the delegation to serve as ambassadors of goodwill, further reinforcing the longstanding friendship between Sri Lanka and Ethiopia.
The Ambassador emphasized that this engagement reflects the growing scope of new and strategic areas of cooperation between Sri Lanka and Ethiopia, particularly in the aviation sector, which is of critical importance to both countries.
The Ethiopia as a globally recognized aviation hub, Ethiopian Airlines Aviation Academy, offers valuable opportunities for skills development, technical training, and professional exchange, while Sri Lanka continues to build its own aviation capacity.
